Or something…We’re bad at analogies. Sorry. This episode Craig, Jim, and Raven tackle SAVAGE DRAGON #188 in which the Claw finally makes his move for world domination and characters die in the brutal fashion you’ve come to expect as a Savage Dragon fan!  After that, the FINcasters hop in their time machine for a retro review of SAVAGE DRAGON #148, the introduction of Daredevil as a regular character and his pals, the Little Wise Guys. As with every episode, we also run through the latest Erik Larsen-related news and continue our  “Erik Larsen Trivia” segment, where we read your responses to last month’s trivia question and try to stump you with new one!

Running late, but not out of things to say, the Savage FINcast returns for its 19th episode!  This episode Craig, Jim, and Raven talk about logo changes, Dragon’s fate, and speculate about issue 190’s digest-sized format.  Later, they are joined by Adam who shares an interview he conducted with super-fan turned Savage Dragon editor, Gavin Higginbotham, about his new position and his writing debut on the ZEEK back-up. To cap the episode, the gang discusses issue 187, including Larsen’s experimental colors. All this, and Savage Dragon Trivia!

Savage FINcast – Episode 16: Gary Carlson, Grandfather of Image Comics!

A new episode of the Savage FINcast rolls in with a brand new interview! This time Adam, Craig, and Jim have invited Vanguard co-creator Gary Carlson to talk about his career in comics. We have a fascinating discussion with Gary about his early days of producing the Megaton anthology comic during the 80s and working with young artist upstarts such as Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, and Angel Medina.  Gary discusses his years at Image Comics writing Supreme, Vanguard, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; and his creator owned line of comics, the critically acclaimed and cult classic, Big Bang Comics! Lastly, we talk in-depth about the recent 12-part Vanguard backup serial featured in the pages of Savage Dragon in which Gary wrapped up some major plots for the character.
